TL;DR

Flagstaff Extreme is Arizona's only treetop adventure park - five color-coded obstacle courses, 30+ ziplines up to 80 feet high, and a dedicated kids course, all suspended in a Ponderosa Pine forest at 7,000 feet elevation in northern Arizona. Adults and teens (12+) pay $60, kids 7-11 pay $30, and groups of 8-20 get 10% off. It earns 4.8/5 stars on TripAdvisor across 594 reviews. If you're planning a team outing or a family day that everyone from ages 7 to 70 can actually do together, this is the move.

If you're already planning a Flagstaff trip, Flagstaff Extreme belongs on the itinerary.

What is Flagstaff Extreme?

There are adventure parks, and then there are adventure parks where the trees are genuinely doing the heavy lifting.

Flagstaff Extreme (they call it FLG X) sits at Fort Tuthill County Park just outside Flagstaff, Arizona - in a real Ponderosa Pine forest at over 7,000 feet elevation. The park bills itself as Arizona's only treetop adventure and zipline course, and from what we can tell, that claim holds. This isn't a parking-lot obstacle course with a few ropes. The whole experience is suspended between living trees: rope bridges, scramble nets, wobbly platforms, cable ladders, and ziplines that zip you 80 feet above the forest floor.

It's been running long enough to have over a thousand combined reviews across platforms and a seriously loyal following. Locals bring visitors, companies bring new-hire classes, families come back year after year. The "it changes every time" quality - the park rotates its obstacles - means even returning guests find something new.

Practical details

All prices exclude taxes and fees. Book directly on the Flagstaff Extreme site.

  • Leather or fingerless gloves - the most common piece of advice from reviewers. Available to buy on-site, but bring your own if you can.
  • Closed-toe shoes - required. No sandals, no flip-flops.
  • Comfortable athletic clothing you don't mind getting sweaty in. Avoid anything too loose that could catch on obstacles.
  • Water - Flagstaff is at altitude and the course is physical. The welcome center has water and snacks, but bring your own too.
  • Sunscreen - you're in the trees, but patches of full sun hit you on ziplines.

Cancel 48+ hours in advance for a full refund. Within 48 hours, the fee is charged in full. The park operates rain or shine - only lightning within 6 miles, winds over 40mph, or extreme temperatures close operations. Rain checks valid for 60 days are issued when waiting conditions cause meaningful delays.

Book ahead - the online calendar shows availability, and advance booking is strongly recommended to lock in your preferred time.
